ZATCA Compliant Software for Phase 2 E-Invoicing and Saudi VAT

Manage tax and e-invoicing in one place with iCore ERP: central setup for tax rates, tax groups and returns, and tax invoices issued from the sales cycle itself. iCore supports configuring the integration with Fatoora, the platform of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), under Phase 2, with simulation and production environments and invoice sending-status tracking when the integration is enabled.

Configuring the Fatoora integration for Phase 2

In Phase 2, electronic invoices are sent to the Fatoora platform: standard tax invoices (business to business) are cleared before they are shared with the customer, and simplified tax invoices (to consumers) are reported after they are issued. iCore supports configuring the integration with the platform under this phase’s requirements.

  • Configurable Fatoora integration
  • Standard tax invoices
  • Simplified tax invoices

Simulation and production environments

iCore supports configuring the integration on both the Phase 2 simulation environment and the production environment.

E-invoices from the sales cycle itself

The tax invoice comes from the same sales flow (quotation, sales order, delivery, invoice), and its journal entry posts and stock updates automatically, so invoice data is never entered twice.

  • From quotation to invoice
  • Automatic journal entries
  • Automatic stock updates

Returns and credit notes

A credit note is an e-invoicing document too. In iCore, a sales return and its credit note are linked to the original invoice, and stock, the customer balance and the accounting are reversed automatically.

  • Stock and entries reversed automatically
Frequently asked questions

ZATCA e-invoicing: frequently asked questions

Is iCore ZATCA compliant?

iCore supports configuring the integration with ZATCA’s Fatoora platform under Phase 2, with simulation and production environments and invoice sending-status tracking when the integration is enabled. Request a demo to see it on your own company data.

What is the difference between Phase 1 and Phase 2 of e-invoicing?

Phase 1 (generation) started on 4 December 2021 and requires invoices to be issued and stored electronically. Phase 2 (integration) started on 1 January 2023 in waves and requires the invoicing system to be integrated with Fatoora and to send invoices to it.

Does iCore help prepare the VAT return?

Yes. iCore lets you prepare, recalculate and review VAT returns, settle tax differences and record the return and payment entries, with tax reports and reconciliation.

Do I need separate ZATCA Phase 2 software for e-invoicing?

No. iCore is your accounting software and Saudi e-invoicing software in one: e-invoicing is part of the sales cycle, so the invoice is issued, its entry posts and stock updates in the same system, with support for configuring the Fatoora integration.

What is ZATCA?

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, formed in 2021 by merging the General Authority of Zakat and Tax with Saudi Customs. It runs e-invoicing and the Fatoora platform.
